Stem Cell Research Laboratory
It is coordinated by Dr. Mauro Krampera and belongs to the Section of Hematology headed by Prof. Giovanni Pizzolo; it is located inside L.U.R.M. (University Laboratory for Medical Research) of Policlinico Hospital of Verona.
It is aimed to the study of biology and potential clinical application of stem cells of different origin (mesenchymal, hematopoietic, neural, cardiac, epithelial, and cancer stem cells).
It contains facilities for cellular and molecular biology, tissue culture, cellular immunology, flow cytometry, cell sorting, live cell imaging, immunological assays, in vivo experiments with animal models.
It is strictly linked to:
the PhD course in Stem Cell Biology and Clinical Application, belonging to the Graduate School in Translational Biomedicine, University of Verona (Coordinator: Prof. Guido Fumagalli)
the Cell Factory for the clinical application of mesenchymal stem cells, Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata Verona, Department of Transfusional Medicine, Policlinico Hospital of Verona (Director: Dr. Giuseppe Aprili)
the Authorized centre for maintenance and experimental use of small-sized animals, at C.I.R.S.A.L. (Centro interdipartimentale di servizio alla ricerca sperimentale che utilizza animali da laboratorio) of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Verona
